Tour of Cambridgeshire moved to September 24th to 26th 2021
We would like to thank you all for your ongoing support of the Tour of Cambridgeshire and the wider events industry, during what has been an extremely challenging time for everyone. Following extensive consultations with all key stakeholders, event partners, suppliers, and the UCI, the Tour of Cambridgeshire 2021 has been moved to September 24th to 26th 2021. All entries have been automatically transferred to the new event date and remain fully valid, including all optional extras purchased. No further actions need to be taken by participants.
In line with the decision making process outlined in our communications earlier this year (available here), we’ve determined that due to the ongoing COVID19 pandemic, government regulations and pressure on the NHS and wider healthcare system, it will not be possible to safely and responsibly host a mass-participation event with thousands of participants as well as hundreds of staff and suppliers in June of this year.
We have worked hard over the past months to ensure we can deliver an event for all of you in 2021 and are excited to announce that we have managed to secure this new event date in September. We’re communicating this with you at the earliest possible time, to ensure you have extensive time to plan and prepare for this new date. We have also put in place robust plans to celebrate the safe return to sport with you later this year. We believe that this new event date gives us the best chance at hosting the Tour of Cambridgeshire this year. We are also excited to launch a completely revamped rider experience including new glamping options, food festival, improved expo experience, new event categories and much more. Details of this will be announced at the beginning of March.
UCI Gran Fondo World Championships
Those of you who have registered for the Road Race, Gran Fondo or Time Trial events seeking to qualify for the 2021 UCI Gran Fondo World Championships will note that these are currently scheduled to take place in Banja Luka (Bosnia-Herzegovina) from September 1st to 5th 2021. We have been have been in close contact with the UCI, who are aware that the #ToC2021 has been moved and the challenges this presents to those seeking to use the event for qualification. The UCI are considering options for the World Championships. Updates will be communicated with riders as soon as more information becomes available from the UCI.
We want to do our best to give you the confidence to book your place at #ToC2021, whilst also ensuring we, as the event organisers, can safely plan and prepare for the event in September. If the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic forces us to cancel the new September event date your entry will be automatically deferred to the 2022 event, free of charge. Furthermore, you will receive complimentary entry to any virtual events that may take place in the interim. Anyone who has tested positive for COVID-19 in the 14 days prior to the event will not be allowed to attend the event and is entitled to a full refund of their entry (proof may be required).

We are not offering any refunds at this time, however all entries remain valid for the new date. This measure allows us to address the challenge of organising a major event in these uncertain times and we are thankful for your understanding and support. Your trust in us not only supports us as event organisers but also the hundreds of staff and suppliers involved in the event as well as the wider events industry.
If you have already entered the Tour of Cambridgeshire 2021 or 2020, this entry (and all optional extras purchased) has been automatically transferred to the new event date and remains valid. You do not need to take any further steps.
Due to the unprecedented circumstances, we are offering you the opportunity to defer your entry to the 2022 event, free of charge, regardless of whether you’ve purchased the Deferral Protection. If you would like to make use of this option, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org by March 30th 2021 stating your registration reference number. As a gesture for your support, if you purchased Deferral Protection for your 2021 entry, this will remain valid for your transferred 2022 entry as well.
Yes, if you’ve previously asked us to transfer your entry to 2022, but are now able to attend the new event date, you can email us at email@example.com to transfer your entry back to the 2021 event. Please include the following information in your email: registration reference number, full name, phone number, emergency contact number, date of birth and postal code.
Yes, all entries along with any optional extras (i.e. express entry, Club Kermesse, etc.) have also been transferred to the new event date. You do not need to take any further action.
Whilst we would love to wait until shortly before the event and hope that the situation improves, as a mass-participation event with thousands of participants, we are bound to long lead times around approvals by authorities, health and safety planning as well as commitments to our suppliers.
